SAM Assess | Rapid Assessment and Benchmarking of SAM Processes

The International Business Software Managers Association’s SAM Assess Program is designed to provide a rapid assessment and benchmark of your software asset management (SAM) processes. The assessment uses ISO/IEC 19770-1 as the reference baseline to measure capability in 27 process areas and more than 200 related outcomes.

This rigorous assessment provides you with ratings of conformance to ISO/IEC 19770-1 and a solid reference point for determining program metrics, continuous improvement and developing or extending your SAM program. The assessment is also the first step to attaining organizational certification for software license compliance.

What are the benefits of SAM ASSESS?
Applying the processes defined in ISO/IEC 19770-1 can help organizations reduce costs and risk and improve compliance, IT service support and delivery. Conformance with parts of the standard may also be used to demonstrate compliance with software license agreements and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Organizations of any size can benefit for the SAM ASSESS review; however, those with more than 1,000 deployed desktop computers or 100 servers, or annual IT budgets of more than $10 million, are likely to see the greatest benefits.
